RMAF Copter Makes Emergency Landing At School Field
ALOR GAJAH, March 17 (Bernama) -- A Royal Malaysian Air Force helicopter had to make an emergency landing at the field of Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Pulau Sebang, near here, due to technical problems.

In a statement issued in Kuala Lumpur, the Defence Ministry said the SK 61A Nuri from the 10th Squadron based at the Kuala Lumpur air base landed at 8.40am.

"The incident does not result in any injuries to the crew or damage to the helicopter," the ministry said.

The helicopter was on its way from the Kuala Lumpur air base to Terendak Camp here for a training at the army training centre (Pulada).

The helicopter was being repaired for a minor damage, it said.

The ministry also called on the media and the people not to make any speculation on the incident.

A police spokesman said four people were onboard the helicopter including the pilot.

"The pilot, with the rank of a captain, was forced to make the emergency landing when one of the sensor lamps on the helicopter screen kept flashing," the spokesman said when contacted by Bernama.
